Real Empire FC 5-0 Stratford Haven Reserves

Sunday 10th April 2011 -- Notts Sunday League Senior Division 3

Champions!!!

We have been asked to cover an AFC Kimberley Town game, and although Kev wasn't available, I had every intention of going to the Stag Ground - until I saw this fixture! Real Empire needed a win to secure the title, and I couldn't resist the chance of seeing a Hucknall team enjoy success.

Played on a rock hard, typical end of season park pitch, both teams failed to inspire in the first half-hour. The home team finally cracked the visitors defence on 31 when their no. 10 was played through on goal and smashed the ball past the Haven keeper.  2 minutes later it was 2-0 when no. 7 "Johhny B" prodded home after a shot had come back off the post.  H-T 2-0

On 53, the no. 10 was on the scoresheet again firing home through a crowd of players after a mad scramble in the box.   A well taken penalty saw  3-0 became 4-0 on 63, and Johhny B rounded it all off on 90 with a splendid flick past the keeper at the near post. F-T 5-0  --- congratulations Real Empire FC !!

3-0

                                                      4-0

Will try and get to the Stag Ground next Sunday when AFC Kimberley take on Erewash Hotel.

Public park, so no admission  and impossible to do a head count!
