Arnold Town U19 1-1 Teversal U19

Monday 11th Octobr 2010 - North MidlandsU19 Football League Division 1 (not the North Midlands Football League Cup as per the programme).

Mr. Mac, Trev, Richard Lane - all present again, and a decent crowd of about 60 shows that there is real interest in the U19 league. Sat with Teversal's Keith Parnill who was their acting match Secretary at this game - Keith also has helps keep the U19 league website updated.

Teversal scored from the penalty spot on 43, CHRIS KIDDY netting off the inside of the post giving the Arnold keeper no chance. H-T 0-1

DALE RIPLEY levelled for the Eagles in the 73rd minute, glancing in a header from a terrific left wing cross. F-T 1-1

Referee Mr. White struggled to control these Under 19 players. There was an awful lot of back-chat, foul language, poor challenges and reckless lunges that went unpunished. This ensured the players learned absolutely nothing about discipline and respect during the game.

Mr. White did book the Tevie no. 4 shirt after he made an horrific challenge that saw an Arnold player carried from the pitch - the injury was bad enough to ensure the player could not return. Any other game, I reckon the challenge would have been punished by a red card - and maybe a lesson would have been learned.

Special mention to the Tevie no. 8, - not only did he make a challenge in the first half that had us all cringing in the stand yet went unpunished, in the second half he told one of the Assistants to "f*** off" at the top of his voice, but yet again, no punishment followed.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not usually bothered by foul language, but this was totally uncalled for, and I was really surprised that no action was taken against the player. Respect, my ar*e!!!!!!
