Nuthall 2-4 Clumber

Notts F.A. Sunday Senior Cup 1/2 final. Played at Coronation Park, Eastwood.

Not a big fan of Sunday football, but this was too good a game, on paper anyway, to miss. Nuthall play in Notts Sunday Premier one, while the Clumber all-star team are in the Premier Premier. Nuthall had a few players I recognised from local Saturday football - Hasham Ramadan (Gedling MW), Conor Croft (Arnold Town/Unity) and Jimmy Spiers (Gedling Town). Clumber's line up included Deon Meikle (Carlton Town), Jaylee Hodgson and Zeke Jenkins ( Loughborough Dynamos), Wes Burke (Gedling SB) and Andy Danylyszyn ( FC Cavalier), as well as Jarrod Westcarr ( Dunkirk) and Cashell Walters (Greenwood Meadows) and Tremaine Walters( Kimberley MW).

Kick off

Nuthall were unlucky to lose three of their starting eleven within the first half-hour, and the changes seemed to unsettle them slightly. Clumber striker JAYLEE HODGSON took full advantage, firing home from 25 yards before the defence had had time to re-settle.

Nuthall dragged themselves back into the game one minute before the break - a straight race between the out-rushing Clumber keeper and CONOR CROFT ended with the keeper hacking the ball against the youngster, then having to watch in disbelief as it sailed back over his head and into the net. H-T 1-1

On 57, HODGSON was on hand to blast home after he was played in on goal, then he completed his personal treble in the 70th, tapping in from close range after a sustained spell of pressure. In the first minute of stoppage time, Croft saw his effort well saved by the Clumber keeper, but HASHAM RAMADAN was on hand at the far post to tuck away the loose ball.

Squeeky bum time for Clumber - the lino letting them know there were still three more added minutes to play! Nuthall pressed hard and won a corner that saw them call their keeper forward. Nothing came of the set piece, and the keeper quickly regained his area, but as Clumber played the ball out of defence, it fell to ZEKE JENKINS who hammered home from an acute angle to secure the victory. F-T 2-4

Very entertaining game - looking forward to the final !!
