Tote Sport Reserve League Central Division
Managed this game because I had taken the day of to visit the dentist. As it happens, my next visit to the "gob doctor" is on the 29th - Forest ressies are again in action on that day - this time against Derby County ressies. Walked into the New Manor ground and straight away met Trev in his trust wheelchair. He made a comment about the two ambulances present being a bit of overkill - err...see the pics following!
5 minutes in and United's Matt Lowton is stretchered off
About 10 minutes into the second half, Forest's Jack Andrews also gets stretchered off....
This game was really men against boys, and the young Reds managed only a single effort on goal throughout the whole game, while United had a bucket full, three of which ended up in the net. In the first half, the Forest keeper not only had Marcus Bent to contend with, he also had the NMG sprinkler system!

Marcus Bent
Ex-Ram Rob Kosluk got a bit of a slating from the Forest fans
Flying high!!
United took the lead in the 10th minute MARCUS BENT firing home a superb ball in from the left, giving Ben Gathercole in the Forest no chance. Forest tried their best to put some attacking play together, but it was from one of their rare corners that United double the lead. The set piece was cleared down field, and when the ball was played into the path of ERIK TONNE, he made no mistake from 10 yards. H-T 0-2
The Blades kept up the pressure as the second half progressed, and went further ahead on 65. JEAN CALVE curled a free kick into the box from 25 yards out and even though Bent missed his header, his presence was enough to worry Gathercole and the ball sailed straight into the top corner of the goal.
As Forest tried to salvage a little pride, their no. 9 Patrick Bamford had a chance to grab a late consolation, but Blades keeper Lawrence Thomas kept the shot out. F-T 0-3
Nice little bonus game - and I reckon well over two hundred were present...
