Calverton MW 0-1 Blidworth Welfare

Tuesday 9th November 2010 -- CML Supreme Division

By no means a classic, but the weather played a hand in that...cold, wet and windy - the pitch was in good nick though despite the recent downpours. Calverton next to bottom of the table, Blidworth lying fourth - should have been a breeze, but Calverton more than matched their high flying opponents in most departments.

We have seen Blidworth on several occasions this season, but their line-up looked a little odd with several players seemingly playing out of position and not looking too comfortable with their new roles.

One goal settled the game, and it came on 24 after STEVE CARTY powered in from the left and cut across the edge of the area before firing a low, hard right foot drive past Michael Randall in the Calvo goal. Mark Ellison should have doubled the visitors lead on 40, but he could only manage to fire wide at the far post after being picked out by a superb Dave Bramwell cross. F-T 0-1
