Boots Athletic 1-1 Basford United

Tuesday 29th March 2011 - NSL Senior Division

Game 21 of the month !!

1st v 3rd in the table, but not a very good game.   We have had the least amount of rain in a March for years and years - yet the first time we decide to go to a ground where there is minimum cover and no hard-standing, it chucks it down!!  A fairly mild evening though, and the rain did ease as the game went on.

No notes taken, because I couldn't be bothered - hence the short blog entry.  The first half hour was a bit of a stalemate, with both teams seemingly waiting for the other to make a mistake.  The opening goal came in the 35th minute and was arguably an O.G, although CONOR CARTER might claim it as it was his header from a corner that went in off a defender.  H-T 0-1

Boots had enough chances in the second half to win two games, but had to wait right up until the final minute for their equaliser. This was courtesy of a penalty - a blatant trip that both me and Kev called from 100 yards away!  BEN MOORE stepped up to lash the ball past the Basford keeper.  After three minutes of added time, the Ref called it a day, and we were in the car and back home for 9:30pm! F-T 1-1
