A game of three halves?

According to Kev it was!! Thursday 30th December 2010

Station Hotel v Hucknall Tn U18's
(Notts Sunday League Premier 2 v Notts Youth League U18 Div 2)

Hucknall Tn U18's v Hucknall Town Res
(Notts Youth League U18 Div 2 v Notts Senior League Div 2)

Hucknall Tn Res v Station Hotel
(Notts Senior League Div 2 v Notts Sunday League Premier 2)

Three x 45 minutes - ensuring the teams all got 90 minutes. Well that almost worked, anyway! The condition of the pitch was so bad that the third segment was trunkated to just 25 minutes...

Muddy ell!!

The first portion of our afternoon's entertainment had already kicked off when we arrived at Watnall Road at 12.20pm, and the U18's were 1-0 up. Station levelled before going behind again to a cracking looping header, then netted just before the break to make it 2-2.

The second helping was fairly even, the NSL team winning 2-1. Goals on 20 and 38 for the Ressies with the U18's replying from the spot just before the end.

The third game was nothing more than a training excercise, a penalty and an own goal deciding it in Station's favour. For this final "game" there were no linesmen, the NSL team had only 10 players, and the Ref had gone home!! The sub ref called a halt after only 25 minutes, thank God. Just me and Daft Lad had stayed to the end, and that was only because we were giving Hucknall's Glenn Garfield a lift home!

Main course will be served later...Radford v Gedling MW at Selhurst Street ko 7:45pm
